Active Needle Technology and MT.Derm sign licensing agreement.
Active Needle Technology (ANT), a UK based ultrasonic needles company and MT.Derm, a market leading tattoo manufacturer today announce a licensing deal in the area of low pain tattooing. ANT’s patented high frequency needle technology has been shown to reduce both the pain and swelling associated with tattooing.
Active Needle Technology Ltd.'s licensed patent, licensed from the University of Dundee, has been granted in Europe.
The invention, co-invented by Muhammad Sadiq CEng MIMechE, relates to improving medical interventions and in certain instances to the generation of image data, in particular data acquired during a medical intervention or procedure.

We are excited to announce that Active Needle Technology Ltd. has developed the world’s first ultrasonic tattoo device, Tranquill™, for medical and non-medical applications.
Initial testing, conducted by an experienced tattoo artist on human volunteer, has confirmed significant reduction (>50%) in pain compared with the market leading device. We are looking forward to commercialising the Tranquill™ in the near future and realising its potential in the multi-billion pound global tattoo market.
We are delighted to announce the grant of our first patent in low-pain ultrasonic needles. The technology opens a range of high-value applications in medical, healthcare and cosmetic markets.
